Statement of Eligibility (QP515)

Post by Frothieman » 22 Feb 2015, 2:37 pm

Hi I am new to the forum and am just wondering if anyone knows how long it takes to receive a Statement of Eligibility (QP515) once it has been submitted to QPOL.

Should be quicker these days, they've sped up their processing of most things in the last couple of months.

2 weeks you'd hopefully have it at a guess

They will not be much longer, usually two weeks is the aim, but no doubt holidays etc of late will make that seem a bit longer.

Am I reading that form right... You have to do a statement of eligibility to the police and have them approve it before you can even join a club?

But it's not a pistol license itself at al.

:wtf:

Yeah mate, one of their red tape reducing procedures, do the "fit and proper person" check first, saving you and them time later on  In reality it's just so their can slug you for more dollars. The cost for this QP515 is part of the licence fee, but they now charge you for it at the time of application, but the licence fee is not reduced when you apply for that.

Twice and much paperwork now to save one piece later.

Government logic.
What is this "too many rifles" you speak of?

Don't know about "conniptions", but it would certainly do his head in.
