Collector's License

Post by sebii » 29 Apr 2016, 3:03 pm

Hi all,

Does anyone know if the SSAA is an approved historical society for the purposes of getting a collector's license in QLD? It seems the historical arms guild here is no more. I know the SSAA have a historical branch, but is that a separate membership to SSAA? I'm having trouble finding a society, club, or association.

Cheers,

I'm no expert mate but on the SSAA forms you can opt to have them be your genuine reason for Hunting, Target Shooting or Collecting so I would think that you could have your standard membership with them act as a a genuine reason for a collecter's licence.

Might be best to contact either SSAA or your Licensing branch got clarification.

Try this.

Branch number: Q60
S.S.A.A. Historical Arms Collectors Branch Inc.
P.O. Box 3422
Norman Park, Qld 4170
Email: [email protected]
Phone: 07 3399 2226

Straight from the horses mouth.

Annoyingly all the SSAA websites are different, not necessarily making it easy to check differences between states.

I found on the SSAA NSW website this...

Please note SSAA NSW can only support A/B Category Licence for Target Shooting & Hunting and a Category G Collector Licence.

Shows SSAA will support collectors license where possible, but QLD website doesn't specify either way. :|

Call 'em.
