It seems to be labor trying to wedge the government because of there tough on crime stuff. I have it on good authority that no changes to gun laws are planned by the LNP government.

That being said it’s only a matter of time before complete confiscation.

Governments toughen gun laws not because licensed owners cause the crime, but because:
Governments believe fewer guns = lower future risk
Legal ownership is the part of the system they can control
Political and public pressure demand visible action
Whether that approach is fair or optimal is a legitimate debate—but that’s the reasoning behind it.

Personally I'm still coming to grips with this social media thing.

Up here it's big news, other politicians are jumping onto the bandwagon, calling for stricter laws. And they have jumped on the fact that this clown JH has jumped in on it to skite how it was him who "took the necessary steps to stop us becoming another US gun culture".

What disappoints me is the people who are supposed to be our peers, who brush this off as a membership drive by SU by whipping up fear.
Honestly, those people are my arch enemy, people who sicken me. And they white ant the social media wood-pile, because they hide behind that as an excuse.

No wonder there are so many people on social media blaming others for their position in society, belittling others who dare to never give up, or achieve something they never will with their attitudes, all to hide their lack of achievement or the fact they are satisfied with being pushed around, or being a sheep hiding in the flock.
Or maybe, too average to fight like some of us. So it is their peers that become the enemy.

Don't dare show that you have a go if you want to be popular, but who wants to be a sheep going up into the truck?

well wapati , it's a quiet sunday arvo, and you've motivated me to send a email to my local labor mp for my electorate , shannon fentiman . i briefly explained stricter gun laws don't address the actions by criminals , wa's gun laws being rammed through with no democratic process or debate , and concerns over impartiality/personal bias with mental health assessments by health professionals. i went on briefly to explain i'm a gun club member who does competitions as well as feral animal control , explaining the amazing wildlife encountered as well as the scenic areas and great people i meet when out on my trips. offered to meet after xmas with her and have a chat about it all to give more insight and understanding . i'll see what comes of it, if anything at all . at least i've made a effort :unknown:

the main reason this country's been taken over by greens/lefties is because their the one's making all the noise. it's high time conservative australians/gun owners stand up and make some noise of their own by engaging positively, politically . basic principle of democracy isn't it ? i've heard of drag queens reading story time in schools , maybe i should do something similar with story time , my own version of bambi perhaps  cheers

good assessment . complete confiscation is not practical for a variety of reasons in this big, very rural land . tightening of laws is inevitable, but if pro activeness can stave things of for a couple more generations, and slow it down, that'd be great . "genuine need" is going to be the crux of it . buying a gun that you don't need for competition purposes or having property letters relating to the use of specific guns for hunting/pest control will be the direction things will take i think.
that's why i shoot and hunt as often as i can, while i can . one day, today will be "the good old days" . vocal pushback , voicing concerns to our elected members is paramount. i've a feeling that after the visit to mara lago by auntie pauline to meet with trump, ON and other parties considered friendly to conservative US government might receive more "help" on the quiet . i hope :D

That is the reasoning but it’s not necessarily accurate.
Of the top 10 most peaceful countries in the world, 5 have some of the highest number of civilian gun owners, 5 have some of the lowest number.
It’s the people and the culture that make the difference.

Funnily enough it was the shooters union that advocated for the culture of gun owners in Nordic countries originally.
And it’s a good culture of trust and patriotism. A gun owner knows his duty and responsibility.

They were the first to recognise that any cultural links to American culture could only aid those who advocate against gun ownership here.

One of the points I made.
1. Already hard to get appointments with a GP, let alone a Psych.
2. The way the Qld WLB worded their assessments was, basically, "Doc, sign here, stating this person won't ever go troppo"
--> no wiggle room for messy divorce, kicked off family farm by banks, etc.
3. We are told we have some of the best gun laws in the world, then we get told we need to toughen them up: make up your mind.
4.Qld WLB has been caught out before with the 'minimum 40 acres' rule, which is NOT the law.
5. Nationals, according to Tim Fischer, were finished as political power for 10 years after betraying law abiding gun owners in 1996.

Ever noticed how those proposing gun bans are usually the same people who want to legalise/decriminalise drugs because "bans don't work"?

Hi Doc,
I’m here because NSW police gave an Isis cell guns.

Wrong Answer. Licensed Cancelled.

after the Bondi s**t show watch this space .... I think any mental fitness tests to be carried on Australians who want to own firearms should be carried on anyone who is in the possession of a firearms, including the police, federal police and adf

something smells off, the miles government puts a bill forward for gun laws to be changed on or around the 10th/11th,then merely days later we have this shooting which has some very questionable behaviour from our authorities and if this is correct a few days leading up to the event google recorded a large amount of traffic from Israel searching Bondi ,
Dunno doesn't sit right with me .....................

emailed QLD premier tonight, sent a third email to my local labor MP . the shooting community needs to unite on this , it's not hard . only takes 5-10 minutes of your time . do it and stand up for yourself, fellow shooters, and australia in general . i'm going to send auntie pauline a email of support tomorrow .

and maybe the kat in the hat , but i won't mention his lebanese heritage cause he might jump through the phone and rip my bloody arms off !
