Post by Baz460 » 26 Jan 2014, 7:02 am

Hi.

Has any one on the forum had there Hand Gun license upgraded to a 45 Cal in QLD ?

And if you have, how long did it take for the endorsement to come through?

Cheers Baz.

About 5-6 weeks in my experience (of 1 instance only).

Have you put it your 4B form yet?

Yeh, all forms in. A month ago I put in a permit to acquire and received it in a week, didn't think an endorsement on an existing license would be that hard to do!

Cheers, Baz

Hi all, sorry to regurgitate a fossil thread, the answers I’m after are sort of here but…

I filled ot a form 4B with a club approval letter for >38 cal yesterday. I searched for a long time to see how to lodge it online but it seems you can’t? So as the search info advised, I took the application into the local police station, paid a fee of about $45 and got a receipt. The clerk there didn’t know much if anything a out this but he said the officer in charge needed to sign it when he’s back on Monday then send it into WL.
So from the above posts it looks like it will take at least a month maybe 6 months.
My question is, when should I submit a PTA? It seems logical that I’ll need to wait until I have the endorsement or they will just reject it.

Also do they send me a new licence with the extra codes and then I cut up the old one? Or do I have to send my current license in and wait again?

Also I heard yesterday that WL have just or just about to hire 40 new part time staff, if this is true maybe things will speed up a bit.

Thanks in advance for any info on this process

After a call with WL I was told my endorsements were approved on Saturday 17/9, they said they don’t email this information, just wait for your new license in the mail….still waiting, hopefully this week it’ll show up
