Contact Weapons Licensing and quote QLD Weapons Act 1990, section 132 (b)
"a weapon that is semi-automatic and has a barrel length of less than 120mm unless it has an overall length of at least 250mm measured parallel to the barrel;"
Ask them to re-asses your application and advise them that your pistol will be compliant with the legislation as the overall length is greater than 250mm measured parallel to the barrel and send any evidence or pictures that you have to support that.
Be polite in all correspondence, even if they are clearly wrong and you are clearly right, people make mistakes, most of the WLB staff are over worked and poorly trained, even for government workers. Apparently WLB is seen as somewhat of a dead end job for those that can't find better elsewhere.
Out of curiosity, what is the pistol that you want to acquire?
