Like to take a barrel blank home to NZ after holiday?

Can anyone give me the correct advise here please. Cobber here has a barrel blank I’d like to buy and take with me back home to NZ, it’s a blank, not chambered, not threaded for anything, can I just put it in the suitcase or are there things I have to do to get it out, I can get the import to NZ sorted it’s just knowing what to do to take it out of here. I’ve looked on the Customs and Police sites but there’s nothing that relates specifically to my scenario.
Can anyone help?
Much appreciated.

Thanks m8
That would work if I was a very little fella, it’s only 27” long! It’d look a bit odd.
Nah seriously, I want to do things right.
