Seriously they need a computer program.
All info provided? Next stage
Does the applicant have a genuine reason? Next stage
Does the applicant have any conviction
If yes pass it on to a person for further details
If no maybe a person checks over it. then issue a licence.
Could all be done within a few minutes... frees up time. Even with thousands of applications

The only good thing about WLB at the moment is that they have sorted out PTA's, I remember when a PTA would take months, I submitted one on a Tuesday and got it faxed Friday. Just keep hanging in there mate!

I'm at 13 weeks I rang last week and was told it should be done in 2 weeks but still haven't done an id check

I'm at just over two weeks and I had my ID check done within the first few days.

It's a long road ahead for me.

Applied on the 14th of June got an e mail to do show 100 points of I'd yesterday, now that's done hopefully not too much longer

Did PTA in dealer shop on 25th July.
Finally heard from weapons licensing on 14th Sept and got license in mail 26th Sept.
Still waiting to hear from PTA, only put down bolt .22
Anyone did similar what I did?

By the time you wait for you mandatory 28 days before they look at it plus the week of them mucking around I can't see it being too far off, did you tick the box to fax it too your dealer? That knocks off a few days in the mail

Go onto the WLB page - contact and fill in the form and click FAX PTA to dealer using the Case Reference.

What's happened is that your PTA has been reviewed before your license was approved and therefore was put back to the end of the queue.
When you do above they will check the reference, see it was subject license being approved and now with an approved license they will process.

Before the amnesty started there were people getting them back in 6-8 weeks. Would be good for those waiting if they get back to those time frames.

29th June still waiting. Have had the email but nothing in the mail yet.
I had submitted PTA's not long after the application, all PTA's have been faxed to the dealers.
Just waiting on the damn physical licence. Been away on holidays for a few weeks, though it'd be here for sure. Will have to call Monday.

I called only once in late September and the guy said it was all good and processing.

Yeah mate you will get the approval email first then wait for snail mail to get hard copy of license

Not to be rude or anything but did you have any convictions or criminal records? Or did you apply when waiting times were horrendous?

Had no convictions had an old charge from over 10 years ago and a pretty average traffic history when I was a teenager lol applied online 17/07/2017 spoke to to weapons licenceing at the Shot Expo and they said 13 weeks was about average. I did speak to one of the gun shops who said it had blown out after shot expo as they had heaps pf new licence applications also.
