Hi Guys,

First time poster too, been reading the wait times on the forum, now, Myself and a mate applied for A&B on Friday 10-10-14

On Tuesday the 14th Oct we got our email to head down to Kirwan station for ID check, event eh lady there asked us when did we apply and she said that was quick!

Soooo, what's that as of today its 5 weeks... so lets see if we both get ours soon, Ill keep you up to date... seems things are getting better

We joined the Townsville Pistol Club about the same time.. we have to wait 6 months as a member of a pistol club before we can apply for H class..

Pete.

I put my application for license , and 2 days later put in for my pta. They said they recieved it on 1/8. I finially recieved my license on the 19/11 and my pta was in the next days mail. so all up I waited nearly 15 weeks. Others I know have recieved theirs sooner. I would call them after 8 weeks and call weekly after that. :D

Yep, that sucks.

Did they ask you (and not him) for any 'additional information' delaying it or just mysterious delays?

Nope we had no phone calls from weapons asking for additional details, my other mate who also applied on the same date as me needed to send another photo, so i understand why his is late, but a little frustrated about mine, i rang them yesterday and was told that its good to go but can take 2 weeks for posting, I know Australia post is bad but not 2 weeks bad.

Oh well, at least it's all good.

thats true

had a phone call his morning my other mate who did it with us but didnt submit his online application until the 2nd of december but also had to resend a passport photo received his license this morning. Thats frustrating.

Does anyone reckon its because I did a PTA straight after with the Case Id number?

There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the times they take to come back.

Maybe depends on how many sickies the paper pusher takes each week :unknown:

Hi, I would just like to ad that I submitted my Cat H licence and PTA on the 8th of December and both my new licence and the PTA for my first handgun and the Cat H licence arrived yesterday the 8th of Jan. I am very happy with that. I applied online and have had a A/B licence for nearly 20 years if that means anything to them? I can't wait to try out my new handgun on the weekend.

Hi I'm new here too and be reading the wait times..OMG! I applied for my licence and PTA on the 2/12/14 I think the Xmas break has/will hold mine up. Because about a week later I received a call from the QLD Weapons Licencing branch as I only sent in the payment receipt for the SSAA and not the actual card. So that was quick. Lets hope it's not much longer :)

They don't accept receipt of payment as 'proof' of you being a member? :?
