I almost posted this again Thank god I spotted this before I made a fool of my self lol

I will just post this here for the people that can't click links for some reason or view them properly etc

We understand that state and territory Police Ministers are being canvassed right now for their support to reclassify certain firearms from Category A to Cat B and Cat D. If your firearm is reclassified to Cat D you will be forced to surrender it and there will be no compensation.

We believe this final request for support from the Ministers is as a result of the volume of mail etc various MPs’ offices have been receiving about this assault on your rights as law abiding firearms owners and users. They are getting nervous – we are having an effect.

We have until this Friday to make our views heard by our state Members of Parliament and the Premier of Queensland. Please – contact your local state Member of Parliament and voice your concern and your disapproval. Do it by email or better still do it by phone. Tell them you do not support any reclassification of firearms, and you will vote against any government / MP who does support reclassification.

However you do it, please do it now. Even if you’ve done it already, do it again. And copy the Premier.

You can see a list with contact details of all Queensland State MP’s here:

http://www.parliament.qld.gov.au/docume ... emlist.pdf

So contact your local member of Queensland parliament, and copy the Premier [email protected] for good measure.

We have until Friday 30th October

And remember, stick to the facts, and keep it polite!

Of course not. That would imply that there is some form of transparency and that politicians are answerable to the public. What silly and dangerous nonsense!

I wanna know why reclassification is to be to Cat D, ??????

Why not Cat C ?

Or do they think they're being smart cos it'll be far more catastrophic to move em to Cat D

If ,,,,,, and I mean if,,,,, when it comes time for Constable Plod to knock on the door and ask for Weapon Serial Number XXXXXXX to be handed over,,,,,

What will he say if you present him with just the "action" ?

Its quite legal to hold and own a stock, and barrel is it not ????

I just sent another to badger them a little more i am currently pushing to get any fedral mp to honestly respond without the use of a generic email which they seem to all be using.
The only thing that seems to get a stir out of them is by reminding them that i will be voting against them and actively campaigning against them if they continue to villafy LAFO'S. They seem to not like the thought of loosing their meal ticket.
Keep pushing guys :drinks: :friends: :friends: :drinks:

Year sorry mate I was referring to the actuel meeting in one of the articles

"The state and territory Police Ministers are meeting on 5th November to consider the NFWPWG’s recommendations – that’s just thirteen days away so we have 13 days to get to our state Members of Parliament in sufficient numbers to convince them that accepting these recommendations will be politically very painful at the ballot box for them."

Mate if eanuf people send them letters some may just wake up and realize that 5% of austrailias population are license firearm owners , and we have friends and family and there are others out there that have no interest in owning a gun but don't like there rights being trampled on

Ive even heard of a few people stating that it would be a great idea to burn them before handing them in if it comes to that would be worth zero not to mention unrecoverable/repairable. But then again one step at at time

At least if we destroyed them ourselves before handing them in we would know they had actually been destroyed

Sort of how like Martin Bryant's AR-15 was supposedly meant to be destroyed but then went off into the black market and then popped itself into his hands.

You can't just let them run around like that you know

If you try to destroy the firearm.... they'll have that covered in the Act/Regs, for example, if you set the mallet to it and 'smudged out' one of the serial numbers, just one number in the sequence....

A person must not deface or alter any number or letter or other identifying symbol or mark on a firearm.
Penalty: 600 penalty units or 7 years imprisonment.

Yup, up to 7yrs!! that seems fair.... :wtf:

Note it says identifying number or letter, so if you removed the 'W' from winchester???? That is an identifying mark.... :unknown: As usual sufficiently vague for interpretation by the enforcers....

....on the other hand walk up to a person in the street and punch them in the face, and what penalty would the courts impose, say if you had 'issues during your childhood??

Back in 97 (was it) when I lined up to relinquish my semi (may the evil dwarf's soul rest in hell when it arrives there), I waited until they put the hydro press through the middle of it..... I wasnt leaving until I knew I would be the last owner......

As far as the NFA goes, there is absolutely nothing that you or I can do to change the Police side or the 'opinion'..... Which is fewer guns in their workplace...(legal / illegal no distinction) They will present their opinion to Pol ministers, as given that the police staff are taken in the experts in that particular forum, THERE IS NO ALTERNATIVE expert position....

The consultation is a sham(*).
The terrorism association is an out right lie(**)
Its claimed that hundred/thousands of Adlers are entering the country( referred to as illegally by various low lifes)(***)

Whatever changes are proposed, whether or not 5+ levers are to go to Cat D.... the rest to Cat B... whether they truly follow the Lindt recommendations and simplify the firearm law....it will be at the State Government level - a draft revised Act will be debated in Parliament where we will have our input, and in Vic + NSW the SFP guys will go to town........The public is not supposed to have an input up to then, designed that way....

If the changes are by legislative instrument (Regulation) then this is dealt with under the provisions of the 'Act' without a bill or debate...There must be an associated 'Regulation impact Statement' with public consultation UNLESS the regulation/amendment is of 'minor' nature or the Reg is deemed URGENT or of NATIONAL SECURITY matters or it is deemed that the consultation has ALREADY TAKEN PLACE..... < I can see some problems here...

reminder for the grabtards reading this, The MARTIN PLACE SIEGE: JOINT COMMONWEALTH – NEW SOUTH WALES REVIEW recommended the following in relation to firearm, and only this (I tried but couldnt find anything relating to lever longarms....);

The Commonwealth, States and Territories should simplify the regulation of the legal firearms market through an update of the technical elements of the National Firearms Agreement.

CrimTrac, in cooperation with Commonwealth and State Police and law enforcement agencies should prioritise bringing the National Firearms Interface into operation by the end of 2015.

States and Territories’ police forces should conduct an urgent audit of their firearms data holdings before the National Firearms Interface is operational where this has not already occurred.

The Commonwealth and the States and Territories should give further consideration to measures to deal with illegal firearms.

I love the fact that this is coming back to the MARTIN PLACE SIEGE , which was a tragedy , but two out of three shot that day where shot by the cops . who also had a sniper trained on him all day from the Chanel 7 building and could have neutralized the the threat multiple times thro out the day but did not .

Hate to sound like a picky bugger but spelling, grammar and punctuation are really important with any letters sent and social media posts. It's the first thing people jump on and doesn't help any message we try to send.
