Have I stepped into some alternate existence.... where right is wrong, up is down, black is white? was it always like this and perhaps I just didnt realise??

"........For example if a firearm is securely stored in the trunk but the owner of the vehicle is driving the vehicle while intoxicated or speeding they might be considered to have compromised the security of the firearm. Additionally circumstances such as this may indicate that the firearm owner may not really understand the responsibilities required for proper firearm ownership."

Are these muppets (sorry muppets for the association) SERIOUS or is it a big joke on the Victorian shooters who just want to mind their own, and get on with it.... Your carrying your firearms, you get pulled over to exceeding the speed limit, which could literally be one kay over (its Vic) AND they want to hit you with storage offences???

Seriously, I'm having a word with some pollies.... this is a blatant attack.

ALL victorian licensed shooters should be concerned by this, it indicates the SPEEDING, which can technically be 41 in a school zone or ANYWHERE / ANYTIME in the Melbourne CBD - could result in PROHIBITION. Thats guns be gone. Sorry owner, I have decided that I believe you just don't understand the responsibilities of owning guns......

I wonder if 1kph over the limit with a kitten in the car gets you charged with putting animals at risk would be accepted,

or 1kph over the limit with children in the car gets you on child endangerment charges.

or does that mean it applies to police as well who have firearms on their belts? If they speed whilst not required / not during an emergency response - will they also get charged with the same?

I have nothing against the police (or people who drive with kittens in their cars) - but I'd love to know who wrote that regulation/legislation up. About time we started to know who the muppets are who come up with this trash...

There are tonnes of cops who are good guys, doing a good thing for the right reasons.

Like every walk of life it's the minority of cock heads that ruin it for everyone else with their nonsense.

Thats right, it only takes one cop, the one that pulls you over or the one that invites him/herself in to 'inspect' your arsenal..... and it only take one in the 'policy' area, big assumption that they have such an area, unless it a matter of making it up as they go along...
