Semi auto air rifles Victoria

Post by Member-Deleted » 05 Sep 2019, 5:21 pm

Hey crew.

Got a question about semi auto air rifles.

Can we buy then in Australia and more to the point in Victoria?

Also, what license catagory do they fall under. I know cat A is air rifles but do they fall under this or maybe C or D as they are semi autos?

I just did my safety course this week and was going to ask there but the guys running it seemed too busy dealing with the blokes that 'knew everything' and then got questions wrong

Cheers in advance

I haven't seen anything putting any air-rifle into any category other than CatA.

Are there actual semi-autos or are thèy double-action like my Ruger 10/22? I can't see where you'd get the power from to operate, or are they electric?

I think they are PCP but not 100% sure.

Anyone ever seen one?

I think my 10/22 is based on the 1077?
It's a double-action revolver with a 9kg trigger pull.

The Model is the FX Revolution in .22 so yes they are a PCP and they are semi auto and fall into Cat A, they are however quite expensive and becoming hard to find as FX dropped I believe the Revolution from the line up, have not seen a replacement. Used Guns has one on there for near $2900, they are quite dated as a model now, I believe at least 10 years from launch date. But they are deadly accurate and due to their set up very very quiet, they can easily be rebuilt by changing out all the seals and O rings, that's about it on most PCP'.
