Payment Made. Photo Taken. Now what?

Post by NewShooterGirl » 29 Dec 2019, 1:56 pm

Hi Everybody
I am new here and new to shooting
I went to Westpac and paid for my license yesterday
I also got my photo taken at my local post office yesterday
(Which was a "valid photo point" designated by Vic Roads)
My next step is now to receive my plastic license in the mail, is that right?
Does anybody here know how long it takes to receive the physical license in the mail?
Thank you

Welcome to shooting always good to see a newcomer
officially it's probably 28 days plus two weeks for post
Unofficially it's whenever they get to it plus two weeks for post
Wait the 28days then call for an update make sure your polite and friendly
Also Make sure to submit your pta early don't wait for the plastic otherwise you will have another 28days from approval of pta to wait before picking up your gun i learned about this the hard way

Once you lodge your application
Once the Police receive your hard copies
There's then a "28x day cooling off period"
(That 28x day cooling off periode starts ticking from the date when the police received your paperwork)

Once you make your payment at WestPac and get your photo taken though
(Which you have)

I think you're meant to receive your plastic license in the mail within 2x weeks time now I think?

Should be a matter of a few days max. The paperwork is done and just waiting to add your photo to it, print the card, and mail it out.

Thank you everyone. Thank you Bladeracer. I guess it will probably be around 2x weeks before I receive my plastic license then. By the time they receive my photo and process it etc, that'll probably be 1x week. By the time they send it through SNAIL MAIL  , that will probably be another 1x week. I reckon it will probably take 2x weeks before I receive it then, taking everything into consideration. Thank you very much everybody, I will let y'all know how I go, if I receive it beforehand :D  :welcome:

Denno; That's as long as Australia Post, also known as Snail Mail (as previously mentioned by NewShooterGirl) doesn't screw up

Which knowing them
They probably will.....
