Overseas Licences

Post by Rider888 » 03 Feb 2020, 4:08 pm

A good friend of mine is considering moving back to Aus, Victoria to be more specific, and was wondering if it would be simple process to transfer his US Firearms licence to Aus?
In the US he holds a H Cat or the equivalent and also has a concealed carry permit.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

No such thing as transferring a licence. He starts over fresh here.
Definitely no on the CCP.

If i was you try and convince him to stay in the US. At least they have some notion of freedoms.

Coming here will be a culture shock to say the least.

Then tell him to give his guns a really really long kiss goodbye. Also tell him to be prepared to feel naked without carrying his piece. I've spoken to many CCW holders from the states and they all say that after a while carrying a pistol feels as natural as having your wallet and keys in your pocket. And you never leave home without your wallet and keys, right?

Hey tell him while he gives up ccw and ar15s, he will on the other hand gain free medical in world class public hospitals. Freeish education for his kids. If he doesn't work a few hundred bucks a week in dole, but if he works then he only has to do one 35hr job on minimum wage and will be able to afford most luxuries of the world. If he's good with his hands and has a blue collar skill, he will be very well off.... one last piece of advise, tell him don't run a business and have employees
