From the SSAA web site;

"ESSENTIAL TO SUPPORT THIS PETITION
01 May 2020
WE ARE CALLING ON THE ANDREWS GOVERNMENT TO OVERTURN ITS BAN OF THE SALE OF AMMUNITION AND FIREARMS IN VICTORIA
The Nationals Member for Eastern Victoria Region, Melina Bath calls on the Andrews Government to immediately reverse its ban on the sale of ammunition and firearms in Victoria.

The ban is not based on National Cabinet advice, but politically motivated.

Firearm and ammunition retailers are losing millions of dollars, impacting family businesses and forcing many Victorians out of their jobs. This is happening at a time where we can least afford it.

Recreational shooters and land care volunteers must be allowed to purchase ammunition to support farmers control feral pests, but also improve mental health and wellbeing by permitting recreational activities such as hunting and target shooting.

I the undersigned Victorian citizen call on the Andrews Government to recognise that Victorian licenced firearms owners deserve the right to purchase ammunition and firearms and overturn the ban immediately.

It can't hurt to sign but honestly look at Trudeau; he has used people's fear in the time of a pandemic to to ban firearms and law abiding firearms owners. That's exactly what's happened here.

There was a shooting with 22 killed over there, so I don’t think you can really compare the two cases.

Somehow it feels like a petition to kiss Daniel Andrews ass
I dream of a world where chickens can cross the road without having their motives questioned

Exactly. If you want results then get lawyers and law suits involved, sue the government for discrimination. But no apparently the answer is sign this form and cross your fingers Andrews secretary ever even sees it.

We all want that, but that costs money and time, big money if you get a good lawyer.

Long as a majority of people can't afford a decent lawyer, let alone care about these issues, then this is legitimately the best thing we can do I think.

Cabinet or something are having a meeting today, we'll see if anything interesting happens, and if Mr. Goofy Big Ears gives us plebs any positive updates.

Errrrrr

If thousands of people sign this petition
And if that does get us our PTA's back
Then we win
No problems

On the other hand,
If signing this petition accomplishes nothing
Well then, in that case, you would've lost just 5x seconds of your life
No big deal

Can't really lose either way
Worth a try
Nothing to lose
