Longarm Target/Sport Shooting Attendance Requirements

Post by NewShooterVic » 08 May 2021, 7:00 pm

Hi guys,

I am a very new shooter and had a quick question regarding staying licensed once it's renewal time.

If my license is a cat a + b license and my reason for being licensed is for target shooting, do i need to attend a competition or event a minimum amount of times to satisfy my license requirements?

I know in some states you need to attend an event a minimum of 4 times for target shooting licenses. Handguns also have a minimum attendance requirement but i couldn't find anything specifically for cat a + b Victorian target shooting licenses.

Cheers :)

There is no requirement to do a minimum amount of shoots in victoria but you should go a few times a year or they may ask you to why you need a licence if you aren't going shooting, I don't even think there are competitions you can compete in.
I got my h licence recently and that uses up a significant amount of my spare time so I only shoot rifles a couple of times a year.
