Hey guys I know this is Australian gun laws but I thought I'd ask in here.
I was looking at purchasing a stock for my Remington 700. So rang up Australian Customs, they said I would have no problems at all, as long as it wasn't wood, not collapsible or foldable stock, and it was under $1000.
Sweet. Went and placed my order, and since most places in the US don't export directly to Australia, I set up a US exporting company mailbox, and got it sent to one of their warehouses. Now the problem is that I found out after, that its US Customs that will seize it while its trying to leave the country.
I've tried emailing US customs to find out what forms there are to be completed and what other requirements there are, but haven't heard back.
Has anyone had any luck with getting anything across?
I know that if its under $100 you don't need to worry and you can get whatever you want, but the prob is this stock is $350.
Any help would be great. I tried contacting one Gun Exporter who has a licenced but apparently he only has a permit to export Bell and Carlson parts...
