Licence with hunting only

Post by Tomotron » 23 Nov 2022, 7:18 pm

So let's say you use a registration of interest to hunt pest animals on Crown land as your Cat A/B hunting genuine reason. Can you do target shooting on private land if your licence is hunting only? I know you can target shoot at approved ranges but I'm not sure about private land. I had a read of the Firearms Act and Regulations and I couldn't find anything that prohibits people with hunting only from target shooting on private land. What are your thoughts?

Yes you can do everything with this category type.

Be aware there are laws that govern target shooting on private property.

I cannot remember the exact figures it's something like no more than 5 shooters no more than 3 hours at a time so if there's several of you and you're having a good session every 3 hours stop for at least half an hour I know it sounds stupid but it is in the ACT if you want to go over that or have more than 5 you got to notify the nearest police station and you are not allowed to have permanent infrastructure on the propert it's why all my steel plates go on star pickets
