Travelling VIC to SA

Post by homeworkiv » 06 Aug 2023, 8:21 pm

Hey fellas, Travelling to SA in a few months and been offered to shoot on a property. I try to search online and I seem to get mixed signals. Does anyone know the rules or if I have to apply for some sort of permit of any sorts? I've also only ever thrown my guns on the backseat in bags to be out of sight so not sure if I must have it attached to vehicle in anyway. I know NSW has some stricter rules about that but I wont be travelling through NSW. Appreciate any help and TIA

Very similar to Vic rules but Bigpete will give a definitive answer.

Ammo has to be carried in a locked box but firearms only have to be stored out of sight in a vehicle capable of being locked.

As for shooting on private property.....just shooting targets, don't need a permit. Hunting, technically need a hunting permit.
