I reckon the mods are worried about any potential legal hiccups with firearm related transactions, left unchecked for a single minute they could be in strife for facilitating an illegal transaction

I'm sure that's the reason. But at least two other forums that I'm aware of allow members to advertise firearms.

I can see firearms being a worry, but not the other stuff.

I recall reading somewhere that one of the states made you actually lock up used brass.

Firearms
Ammunition
Powder
Primers
Prohibited weapons such as some knives.

Would be fine. Almost no management required.
