License and safety course waiting times in Tassie

I recently went to my local gun store and asked how long it takes to get a license here and he said there was a 9 month queue on the safety course.
If there are this many new shooters I assume the time to get your application approved will be longer than the minimum 2 months.

Anyone who recently get their license know how long its taking these days?

It's not that long. That's just the story that's going around. If you call Tafe and ask they will tell you there are lots of dates sooner than your thinking. And if you call them and say if someone calls to reschedule their course to call you so you can take their spot sooner.

From handing in form at TAS services to getting card in hand took me 5 months (about 2-3 month gap between getting police approval and TAFE course), that was just at end of last year.
