What is this inside my safe?

Right, so I've googled this and looked everywhere and I cannot for the life of me find out what this red thing on the inside of my door on my safe anyone have any ideas?

(ps - yes I am aware this tiny safe will soon need a larger replacement I already regret buying one so small)

To hang your cleaning rods.

Just leave it there and put some wood on top with some holes in it to store your cleaning rods etc.(same sort of shape as what's there but smaller holes to suit the rods so they don't fall out easily.

Please don't tell me the law requires you to store cleaning rods in a safe. The guns and ammo stuff already has me pulling my hair out.

No there is no law requiring that, it's just a feature they seem to put into safes for some reason (mine has something similar) I don't use it as I leave my cleaning rods on the desk where I clean and maintain my rifles along with all the other cleaning/maintenance gear.

I should email them that when we were in the jungle, only had blanks, and monkeys would steal somebody's stuff we would use the blanks to shoot cleaning rods at them. That will probably be enough to put the cleaning rods in your safe j/k

I have the same thing in two of my safes and I keep my rods on them. Keeps them out of the way and I know they won't get bent in there.
The ProShot rod has a smaller diameter handle that fits through those holes in one safe so I cut a piece out of a washer and put that over the hole.

I just hang optics on there. Since I only use them with rifles. Binoculars, GPS, range finder and headphones, all hang off those to remind me to take them if needed.

I have the same same safe except for a 5 gun. I hang my slings and scope covers from it and keep my guns in socks, dont like the idea of a field used sling being in direct contact during storage.
