Aussie Lone Piper Poem - cant find it

Post by Stix » 26 Apr 2020, 11:32 am

Sorry about this--a weird thread i know--but i have to ask...!!

I cant find a poem & piper music piece Im looking for ..
___

This morning on ABC Radio--Macca's program to be exact, there was a poem read out/played which was about a lone piper. I loved it & the little story it told, but i cant find it anywhere on the net...so i figured ill ask the question here on the long shot anyone here knows what it is & who it was written by...

Here is some of the details i remember about the story the poem told....

The poem was set in an outback pub of a town that started with "W"
A lone Scotch lad was in the pub, named "Jock"
The community needed a piper, so the lone Scotch lad changed into his kilt, but he was missing his sporran.
(I think) He grabbed a kangaroo skin off the wall, rolled it up & clipped it to his belt.
The poem goes on about the lad playing the pipes & making a point about his sporran bouncing up & down.

Anyway...sorry this a strange thread...& i know asking is a long shot, but thought id give it a crack, because i cant find anything on the net, but im really not good with this internet searching stuff.

"Cheerio" :lol:
:drinks:
The man who knows everything, doesnt really know everything...he's just stopped learning...
