Has anyone else experienced this problem ??
For the last two days I have been unable to load up the Cleaver web site.
My internet security says it's because their "safe site" status is no longer current.

That was fixed for me, as far as I could tell it was their web certificate that was outdated and so chrome didn't deem it as safe.

Used guns is currently doing the same for me but their web certificate is current so I have no clue what is going on there.

Cleavers is working OK for me too, no problems in the last few weeks either. Their SSL cert is valid from 23rd March so has been updated recently, I would suggest trying a different browser and if that works try clearing the cache on your main browser.

Usedguns seems to be having serious problems and is currently responding with a self signed certificate and no back end content, looks like a work in progress by their IT support.

I reckon China has something to do with this. They dont want the general population armed for when they attack next April 1st.

Lunchtime Tuesday I access there site no problem. I wish I could not. If I can access their site money jumps out of my wallet

I didn't see the issue first hand, but that sounds like it.

SSL certificates typically last 1 year, when a certificate is renewed the new certificate has to be installed manually.

If this task slips through the cracks and the site ends up still using the expire certificat eyou get the warning, as the website is basically saying "I'm safe" while quoting expired credentials.

Once the new certificate is installed it's fine.

Still can't access "used Guns". I get a "404 Error site not found". and instructions to send email. Whren I click on the tab a new email screen pops up asking to create an account . Anyone else getting this?
Has the site been hacked or compromised or just under going maintenance

Yeah, I’ve seen that used guns is down. I’ve currently got an ad on there and got an email today saying that the sight was down and will be back up soon.
I look at used guns, Oz gun sales and the SSAA sight, the other two are still up.
On another note, are there any other good sites worth looking at in Oz that I haven’t found??
I used to look at buy used guns, but haven’t found it to be too good. Not many new ads go up often enough.

With the failure over the long weekend and coming back initially with a temporary self certified SSL certificate on Tuesday it looks like they had a serious hardware failure and are trying to recover the system. From the new SSL certificate dated this week it would also appear that their backups and disaster recovery planning have failed miserably and they are now rebuilding the entire site and database from scratch with maybe a few old partial backups to help.

Just a guess but I've done the same type of recoveries in the past, it doesn't look to be anything sinister.

Have been reading the news releases from WebNX as well, they say their Los Angeles server is taking much of the load from the fire, but several customers cannot be transferred. They do say, however, that when they are allowed by the electricity authority to start rebuilding their Ogden, Utah, servers they expect to recover almost all of the data as the fire was mainly confined to a backup generator and the servers were mainly water damaged. Seems the generator that burned was also responsible for running the fire fighting system, bugger!
