It's just another example of the overweening sense of superiority and entitlement that sows so much trouble in the world.
An entitlement that's displayed in the voluntary euthanasia debate, the abortion rights debate, the same sex marriage debate and the use of contraception to prevent aids.
A sense of pious entitlement so strong, they truly believe that their own anachronistic mythological dogma is
so important that total strangers should die in pain or give birth to a child perhaps conceived during an incestuous rape, just to satisfy their own outdated beliefs.
I saw a perfect example on the news last night.
The report was about the US state of Kansas passing abortion rights laws.
A woman clearly in her late 60s was decrying the passage as an abomination against HER beliefs even though at her age it wouldn't be something she was likely to ever need.
Another is the Carmelites telling Africans that condoms were the work of Satan and that using them would
give them aids.
