Ordering projectiles online from overseas

Looking for some Sierra 110gr .277 ProHunter #1810 bullets. Can't seem to find any online here in Australia. I'm sure there are a few boxes sitting on shelves in LGS's around the country but where.....?

Found some online in NZ.
Anyone ordered projectiles internationally? How did you go getting them into the country? Do they simply get treated as a normal parcel and show up at your door?

There should be no problem as they aren't a prohibited/restricted import item, BUT, it depends on the supplier, (some just believe everything gun related is banned in Australia), and also if someone at Borderfarce gets their panties in a knot if they check the package.

You'll need a B709 import permit, but it's not difficult.
But I just did a very quick Google and I think you'll struggle to find them anywhere as Sierra no longer list it, and only have current stock of the 140gn Gameking.

Try Brownells then you can order them through Brownells.com.au as they already have the permits.
But really, if the bullet is difficult to source maybe just switch to something more readily available.

Cleaver do still list the 130gn ProHunter, but you'd have to ring to confirm if they have stock.

My bad on the restricted item import, I was going off previous stuff I had imported, now you need the B709 it seems.

I like the Speer HotCor soft-points for cheap reliable bullets.
Or the 110gn VMax for small beasts and the 120gn SST for bigger ones. Hornady always seems to be available.
Cleaver prices are $70/100 and $77/100 if they have stock. Actually they have the SST listed twice, at $60 as well so you might be able to hold them to that price. They only list the 130gn SST though, not the 120gn - Rebels have the 120gn SST for $83. Could also try the Hornady 110gn BTHP Match.

I did look at Bertram to see if he does a .277" bullet but couldn't see any, he may do though.

I think I only own one .277" bullet, the Remington 115gn FMJ, I think they were cheap but you'd have to grind the points off.

Looking at prices of the Pro-Hunter it looks like they'd be over a buck apiece now even if you could find them.

Strange, I picked up the 110gr prohunters for cheap.

Need something that will perform at 2500fps. The reduced load I use them for basically replicates factory 6.8spc loads.

The prohunter seems a perfect match, just a shame they've been discontinued.

I believe the 120gn SST is designed for the 6.8SPC.

I have quite a lot of Gold Dots for pistols, don't think I've tried their rifle bullets, but I don't think they're cheap - Rebels have .452" 200gn bullets for a buck apiece.

Just looked at Cleaver, Rebels, and Projectile Warehouse and they don't list them, so I would avoid them if you ever want to be able to get them again.

I can vouch for Hot cores & Hornady Interlocks. Both worked for me.

Perhaps 120gr if there is something about. Won't be much different recoil wise.

Yes, maybe not quite so on the big end of deer species and body shots on pigs in the 100 Kg plus. Goats no problem.

130gr moving as saaay, 2500fps should be mild to shoot.

I have a load for my M70 30.06 130gr doing about 2700fps and very mild.

Give Hartley's in Bendigo a call pretty sure they have a 2 boxes on the shelf and the price is an old 1, they also have hornady 100gr and 110gr bullets too
