Weeellll, they were requesting them. Sooo,,, I assume that Ukraine were confident they could use them.
Do you feel you know better than the Ukraine MOD & Government?

Yes. There's an old polish saying a man drowning will even grab razor blades. No amount of donated equipment is going to change the course of the conflict.

At least a dozen other countries are happy to operate them.

Then get over there and save them.
Oops, how silly of me you want Russia to win.

OK OB, what are all those numbers you quote?
There are 16 entities with a number 259 alongside them. It is actually a reference number for a Wikipedia entry 'NH Industries NH90' found here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NHIndustries_NH90
The numbers in service, as shown in "World Airforces 2024" https://www.flightglobal.com/download?ac=98881 are inserted in RED in your post. Seems that some of those countries have quite a few - is there a clamour to dispose of them? Some (many) of the service failures have been attributed to engine failures about which several maintenance recommendations had been made, and in some cases not followed, which resulted in machine failure/s. Perhaps, if recommended maintenance had been performed there might not have been a need to "ditch" them?

Infact it's been an attempt to cover up the incompetence.
And if you think about the ADF in general, seems to me every 6 months or so you hear of more and more fukups and literally billions being wasted.
And suicides galore.

Imagine the F ups you don't hear about? Would be a factor of 5 or 10 at least over the ones you actually do see get reported.

There was an article stating Australia is too focussed on big drones and ignoring the reality on the worlds most current battlefield Ukraine. Says we should be focussed on many smaller drones. Makes sense. We are seeing $1000 drones taking out million dollar plus tanks.
