:D thanks for the compliments mate , thought i might've been going a little overboard

i was listening to some old tunes of my extensive record collection and got sentimental about the australia of old . the one i grew up with where people were proud of our unique colonial culture , when we had some very smart inventors and we used to make everything here .

disclaimer , don't drink and post

Great stuff mate.
Unfortunately, "we" collectively are to blame here.
We f*cked this by voting the way we have.
remember the crap the politicians and motoring industry told us - Australians don't want big cars anymore - so the best machines ever made in this country ceased forever.
Aussies don't want big cars?
So now, the most popular selling cars here are made in Thailand, and are huge 4-door 4wd's.
Yeah, good one.

with voting , not me mate , i've seen the writing on the wall a long time ago and have been voting ON ever since . over 20 years now i think . we had our own brand of trucks that were over engineered very solid design based on the cab over mack "F" series , called leader . used to be made out at darra , cat engines with road ranger boxes . local gyprock company still uses one a bogie drive twin steer . i used to know the mechanic who serviced it . they kept it cause it would haul and go places lots of other trucks wouldn't . i'll keep posting on this topic to remind us of what we were

Assuming voting works. You dont need a massive conspiracy theory involving vote fixing or reptile overlords to say it doesnt. just big business influencing the show and the wrong sort of easily bought people making it to the top in both parties marching to the same drum.

I keep going back to the fact most the first world went down the same way at the same time, this isnt just Australia. Manufacture, national assets, power grids, all got sold off and extorted just the same way. Thats a pretty big coincidence. If voting and people power worked, one of the 30 or so other first world countries would have pulled out of the nose dive and corrected themselves by now. (Even by the law of averages half of them should have) But none did.

Out of all the nostalgia I’ve posted, I like the one with bob hawke telling the joke about the canoe. Can you imagine albo-sleazy trying that on ? He’d f@ck up telling a joke he’s so hopeless. lol
