It's just as well I don't kick my dog.

Yep, It's just as well I don't kick my dog,,,,, otherwise she might detonate.
The other night I was getting ready to go out on another hunt for a problem fox, and I decided to fill the mag before going.
My fingers don't work like they used to, and the slippery little .17 hmr's aren't a great help in that respect.
In the process, I dropped one, and quicker than lightning my dog grabbed it and swallowed it. (bugger)

The good news was,, I did get the fox later that night.
I do not fear death itself... Only its inopportune timing!
And,,,,It's been proven,,,,, the most trustworthy females in my entire life were all canines.

henry lawson, banjo patterson, steele rudd . the poetry and often comical tales of these colonial australian writers have been forgotten . i learnt them in primary school, when we used to sing the national anthem at morning assembly and every classroom had a picture of elizabeth the second on the wall . found out the deputy principal was with the "path finders" squadron in ww2 when he gave his retirement speech . J M Wilmore was his name if i remember correctly . he was a bloody good bloke , gave you the cane when you deserved it, but laughed and let you off with a warning if you were just being a larrakin . i look back now and consider myself lucky to have been born in 1969 and seen some of this nations best years . i remember some of the bush poets writings about the bullock teams from back in colonial years , fascinating stuff . wonder if anyone has thought of training up bullock teams for at least demonstrating purposes at exhibitions or shows .

back on topic, i hope DJ's "loaded dog " doesn't get up to any more mischief :D

i can just imagine DJ in bomb squad protective gear carefully cleaning up the turds like their IED's

That's a big worry mate, that live bullet will probably not pass through your beautiful dog. My suggestion would be to immediately have a scope down her throat and have that sharp pointed live round extracted. My wife's bet is it will lodge in the intestines somewhere and the result may be awfully tragic.
If it passes, it's going to be a miracle mate.
But good luck with it, I hope it works out well. It's certainly NOTHING to even think of cracking a joke about, sorry.

You do realise that your Dog is committing an offence ?
Unless the pooch has a Firearms Licence ?
The Greens will reckon you are using the beast to smuggle ammo.

Thanks fellas,
Zero signs or indications of any problems,,, but took her to the vet this morning.

After gathering poop and putting it all in a tub and adding water, then breaking it all down to mush with a big stick, (does this make me an official sh!t stirrer ?)
and then pouring it all over a suitable mesh strainer,,,,,,,,,,, no sign of the bullet.

So,,,,,,,,,, at 5-30pm tonight I pick her up from the vet, after paying $1,344 for treatment and Xrays,,,,,,, Still no sign of the bullet.

All this to hopefully put an end to 3 weeks straight of things going wrong and getting unexpected and unplanned accounts that have up till tonite cost me over $10,000 for the past 3 weeks.

FMD,,,,,,,, Cost of living on the old age pension certainly not easy.
