Video editing

Hi all,
Does anyone have any video-editing programmes of downloads that they could recommend to stich multiple small videos together, and being able to "voiceover", for bunging in YouTube?

My wife and I have two businesses to run at once, so during the week we are 100km apart.
I take videos on GoPro or when running around, or when doing animal stuff. And being able to post them up on YouTube for viewing by the Mrs or by people with site permission. Maybe one day, public, but that's just a matter of YouTube setting from what it looks like.

Does anyone have any recommendations of simple programs?
I realise this isn't firearm related so maybe I'm asking a strange question from a gun forum.

I've made some basic videos using "Windows Live Movie Maker", which is pretty ancient (2011) but came free with windows 7. Works fine for editing clips together from scopes, spotters and phones etc, but I'm sure there have been huge advancements since then.
I've never added voiceover. My version doesn't allow recording it direct from a mic, but later versions (2012 onwards) do.

I have a pretty new Windows laptop but can't really find anything. My luck, if it's anything like Excel or Word the grubs make you buy ongoing subscriptions and they rape your credit card repeatedly.

What version of windows do you have? It seems Microsoft Clipchamp is pre installed in windows11 , or you can run it free in a browser.

Yeah I have that Clipchamp, on 11, but can't figure it out.

I used Clipchamp for a few years, but it's buggy and fussy at times and it's also hogs up space on the C drive and doesn't delete files from it's cache after you delete the project you were doing. But for basic stuff and if you don't want to spend money, it's fine.

I now use CapCut and pay for the pro version and since I am a professional now making videos 7 days a week, it's a major step up in quality but easy to use overall. One nice feature I like is the transcript feature and I can go in and edit out all the Ums, Uh, Well, You Know, So and any dead air. I think the free version probably would do most of what you want. All the videos I have made for the past 18 months have used CapCut, it was a big step up in quality.

I also film in 4k 60fps and use a quality DJI microphone.

I believe there is still a version of DaVinci out there that is free and I tried it but the learning curve is steeper and they have so many buttons and things you really need a professional work station and big monitor to take advantage of it. I use a laptop.

Some people say Adobe Premiere Pro is great but Adobe has turned into a bloatware type company, so I have avoided that.

Thanks mate, I will give that a go.
Got no dramas paying for something that won't bug up the laptop and isn't throwing up pop-ups at me every click.
Nothing's ever free, eh.
I used to make and edit workshop drawings on CAD and know my way around a that stuff, but nowadays after a big day I just want intuitive, simple editing and stitching of my clips.
The YouTube part looks easy enough, it's completing the file before uploading is what I'm after.
