My licence arrived!!!!! and a question.

Post by jennageit » 28 Nov 2014, 6:12 pm

Hi guys,

I am soooooooo happy!

I paid for my license on the 18th November (the absolutely last day possible to pay it) and today, in the mail, arrived my firearms license (10 days later)! I'm so happy!

I'm not in a position to buy a firearm at the moment (hopefully wont be too long), but I'm holding off, sort of, until we find out whether we actually have to move or not. It's a 'wait and see' moment for us.

Anyway, now that I've finally got my licence, I feel like I can relax a little. The pressure is off, and I have to say a big "Thank you" to my son for loaning me the money to pay for it. I paid him back, but it took me a few days to do it.

Also, my mate at Budgeree is getting me the address of his new place, and when he was riding around it the other day, he found an old cabin in the middle of the place. It's basic, but would make a great place for anyone who wants to stay over and shoot. He's had some camera's going on the place, and has identified 11 different dogs and about 30 foxes. He's willing to pay whoever wants to come up and shoot, so long as they provide proof that they've actually been shooting. He's offering $5 a fox scalp, and $20 a dog scalp. This is payment for doing the job, and then the shooter can take the scalps to wherever they need to, to collect any bounties. He wanted to know if this was fair. I had no idea, so I told him I'd ask you guys.

There ya go, question asked.

Talk soon, shoot straight and take care.

Jenna

Bugger....why couldn't he be north of the border? I'd shoot as many of the critters as possible and give him a case of his favourite ale for the opportunity.

That's the plan. I'm getting ready to list four or five cars this weekend.

1 x V40 Volvo
1 x 1977 Mini
1 x 1987 230TE Mercedes Wagon
1 x ???? 240GE Volvo Wagon
1 X 1994? EB Falcon

Should get enough out of them to get myself something nice, I hope.

Jenna

PS. The classic's aren't being sold yet. We can't decide what to keep and what to sell.

Hey Jenna. Grats on getting your licence.

RE: your mates new property. I would love to come and help with his dog / fox situation. No payment needed and I could give you all scalps to go towards the purchase of your rifle. Hand in for scalps is in Morwell or Traralgon once a month from memory.

I could come and meet with you this Monday or another time that suits.

Cheers Brad

Having a place to hunt is value in itself.

Sound like a fair price to me.

Hi guys,

I'm waiting for my mate to get back to me with his new phone number, and I've passed on contact info from those who pm'd me.

I'm not sure if he's made contact with anyone yet, but I'll let you know his plans as soon as I know them.

Take care, shoot straight, and enjoy life!

Hey Wrenchman,

I didn't get to shoot last Wednesday night (back to hospital unfortunately), but before that, it was all going well.

As for Santa, I'm the reason he has a "naughty" list, so I doubt there'll be one waiting for me at a dealer lmao

I've saved up a bit of money for my rifle, but given that we'll be moving in the near future, and my landlord changed her mind about me installing the safe, I'm not buying one until we're settled. I am, however, collecting other items, like an aluminium rifle case, cleaning kit etc.

Until I get my own rifle, I'll continue to use the club guns. Problem is, I've fallen in love with the Anschutz that I use (she's got an interesting personality) but they wont sell her to me lmao

Take care everyone, and have a fantastic (and safe) Christmas and New Year.

Jenna :)
