Got told similar - when ever it does come back into this state, its going to be 25%-30% increase in Tassie...FYI we are already paying $60 per bottle.

Well i shouldn't really complain i paid $58 a bottle for 2217... but they did me 4kg of 2208 and 2206 for $350 earlier in the year.

I see there is a notice on a certain popular knife stores website saying they are back open, with some restrictions on firearms and ammo sales.

I’ve tried calling and emailing LRD, not expecting a reply any time soon.
The gun shop I have payed outright for two rifles from claimed he was told to charge storage fees to people awaiting their PTA’s to clear, while the sales ban is in place. Said he wasn’t going to. Appreciated, I suppose, but small consolation as my paid in full guns sit in his safe for what will probably be many many months.

I don’t suppose pest control on ones own private land is going to be considered to be a legitimate need for ‘those who need it’ if ones license is recreational rather than being a ‘primary producer?

In case there is any remaining doubt, the vic announcement stated that this decision has come from the national cabinet, thus we may assume it will follow to all other states and territories.

At least gelblasters are still available, either online or from the shops that sell them, don't remember seeing those shops on the list. Fun in the back yard, or even in the house, to wile away the hours.

I was actually watching the news just before.

PTA's have doubled this past week in Victoria.

The Victorian Police said that there was no reason for people to "stockpile guns and ammunition".

Hence why they gave the order to stop the selling of guns and ammunition immediately

Victorian Gun Stores have actually been shut down by Victoria Police due to panic buying.

Folks,
i am doing my bit and am staying put at home - even though i work for a government utility service and cant work from home i decided to take some leave (that was originally planned for june) and stay home.
Looking at the stats this virus has a 5% mortality rate (worldwide figures) but its problem is that it spreads very fast and the body hasn't seen it before. Yes most people who will be exposed to it will recover , as the bodies immune response will act the same way it does when you get the flu .

I aint here to praise Sco Mo or anyone else - but all we have to do it be patient and do what the government says.
Worrying about gun shops shutting - the folks that work in these shops are retail workers and at risk of exposure. Look at the two cases today of retail workers at Coles coming down with COVID 19.

Lets stick together and we will get through this - keep in touch with your loved ones and try to have a sense of humour if we can.

If that's the case then a pause in new licences and PTA's would have sufficed.

Shops are open again for everybody but the majority.... Rules for thee but not for me hey Anna Palacock? So my money ain't good enough? October 31 is the election. I truly hope the devil worshipers loose their seats. I am a single issue voter and I know plenty of others who are too.

Possibly but still wouldn't have stopped the avalanche of foreigners flooding into our stores here in WA demanding a gun offering to pay double etc..

People being asked to sell theirs to unlic people for a tonne of cash etc.... Whole thing is stupid and it's by the same hoarding morons that are building s**t paper mansions

Primary Producers are exempt by the looks of it. Does that mean they can lodge a PTA and pick up a new gun as well as just buy ammo??

Shootermick;
When I called my local gun store this morning, they said that you call still buy rifles and ammunition if you're a primary producer.

In the news today LRD said 2200 PTAs were approved last week , up 100 percent the week before.

Vicpol are getting worried and have suspended pta approvals as well as shutting down LGS.

They spoke about it a bit more on the news tonight.

2,000x PTA's were lodged just last week in Victoria.
(Hence the Police crack down essentially shutting down Victorian gun stores)

Primary producers will still have the right to purchase rifles and ammunition though.
(According to what they said on the news)

Interesting very recent update from Sunbury firearms Facebook page (who are NOT the dealer I have my purchased rifles waiting at)
Seems if you have a ‘current’ pta you can pick up your firearm.
My .308 pta came through this morning (s**t for luck) though LRD told my dealer when he called them he couldn’t release the gun to me, though my .22 pta has not come through yet, so maybe isn’t ‘current’?
If this update from LRD is true and it effects my dealer too, then maybe I will get one rifle but not two...?
What a mess.
Rabbit hunting with a .308? Again, what a mess...

Really really sucks to be u doesn't it porky man

The question actually is you on here just sulking and whinning or were you actually wanting to buy some ammo or had a PTA in. why i don't understand knowing everything couldn't you get it last week or the week before. I have been looking at everything, and i stocked up on a year supply of everything i need.... only cuz with our falling dollar all prices will go up, so rather stock up now.
