I was never an opera fan, still not particularly, but in 1999 I scored an acting gig with Opera Australia for their production of Tosca.

Never liked sopranos (except the New Jersey kind) but I did gain an appreciation for tenor and baritone.

One piece in particular, by "Scarpia" sticks in my mind, but being a total prole, I don't know the name, and despite searching, I cannot find any video or recordings.

I'll bet it was sung rather early in Tosca in the church before Cavaradossi was captured. was it the Te Deum?

Wm. you're a beauty, it wasn't Scarpia's Te Deum, it was Mario Cavaradossi's "A Voi", but you put me on the right track, thank you.

I played one of Scarpia's 2 evil henchmen.

I was typecast, a street racing hoon in Police Rescue, a hencman in Tosca, a crim in an Amercan Hasbro ad, a bikie in the terminally bad "Echo Beach" series with pizza boy, a security guard in an American whisky ad.
I had a change as a country gent in Babe, though.

All in the past now, pay wasn't too bad, but lordy-lordy the catering was epic.

I swear some of these tenors cheated and had the lungs of horses transplanted.

I found this piece after listening to a Mario Lanza video on Yt. The pianist here was also an actor and accompanied ML in the vid.
