“Selling or providing such a letter with the intent of circumventing the legal requirement to provide a legitimate letter of authorisation, is in my mind pretty risky conduct to be engaging in.”

If by chance the gun shop is illegally selling letters then exposing them seems the right thing to do, However its a double edged sword when the police start looking into everyone including the OP who has obtained firearms through this method.

https://www.ellavalla.com.au.This is the place selling property letters. From what I know the place had a fire go through and firearms are half their revenue you can hunt there and they have a .50 cal range at 2km and are trying to get a 2 mile range to open up to international competition.I personally spoke with Shane recently regarding the police issue on going he will not release any information till it is over. One of my best shooters obtained his .243 by getting a Ellavalla letter.Right or wrong it worked and he is one of my most dependable people as in if we arrange to go shoot he does it.He only has the .243 I believe it is an upmarket Ruger and he keeps it immaculate. He is the guy that put the primer in backwards and I checked his loads and there was another.I will mention it when we go to the range next Saturday

We enquired about ellavella a couple of weeks ago and apparently due to the wapol problems they're only operating the range at 1000m :unknown:
100 bucks for three shots of the fifty seems ok considering the state and minimum of 2k to have the whole place to yaself is a bloody good price. Even if only two go its still a minimum of 2k........just a damn shame it's in WA and taking my rifles across is just bloody painful.
As for the letters just about any lgs and most large sations sell'em :drinks:

My property letter cost me $200 mid last year from the dealer. Being new to this whole thing (& having a mate who has been in this for a few years) this is standard practice to be able to acquire an open license for a rifle here in WA.
