My understanding is that you need a 2-syllable name, so it's easy to yell it when calling a dog.
[For a cat; call it anything you like. It's not like it's going to come to your bidding anyway...]

What about the Norse goddess: Freyja:- goddess associated with love, beauty, fertility, gold, seiðr, war, and death.

I really like Marlin...cool gun, cool fish and its a female name in the Sweden region (Malin), plus its odd enough that you will unlikely run into another dog with the same name.

Going pig hunting with the dog?
My 3 year old wants to rename our dog from Kirra to “Peppa” pig lol...

Either that or John?. Will confuses the hell out of ppl and make for an interesting story...
