Thanks Stix  :drinks:
Honestly it's a little of both. We keep the "pick of the litter" kinda thing then either sell or even give away the other one or two. Last year we had two so kept one then gave the other to a friends daughter as they couldn't really afford to pay the bullsh@t prices people ask for a horse. Hopefully we'll get to the point where we can occasionally donate one to riding schools for under privileged or special needs kids....and I get to play with the rest!! :D :drinks:

No big races for my nags but I might enter one in the local bush meet in a year or two. I don't personally believe in saddling and riding my horses until they're around 3yr old(they're well handled just not ridden) unlike the big race scene. They breakem at 12 -18 months then wonder why so many break down . :unknown: :drinks:

Boats, horses, cars, bikes, dare I say guns.......

Haning had all of the above, they all consume money as quickly as you can pour it in

Yep money makes money..i get that...& not just in horses either ziad...!! :)

But i genuinely dont know what horses are worth mate... :unknown:

For all i know a breeding a horse & selling the offspring might well pay for feed & vet bills for existing pets for a few years... :unknown:
...or it could be a part time income stream for DB & family :unknown:

Was just taking an interest in the post & something i know nothing about... :)

Yep unfortunately making money with horses without a recognized bloodline or breed is bloody hard but I am not worried about that  :drinks:
My two mares cost me f@#kall (800 for one and a bottle of rum for the other :D ) and the stallion is a brumby we run when he was six months old so cost me about 100 .and we get a couple of foals a year. I have no idea what breed the stallion is but brumbies.can have just about anything depending on where they're located!!.
They're just something I really enjoy being around! :D  :drinks: :drinks: :drinks:
