Just get them to pay for SSAA membership.

As members of the SSAA you'll have a large public liability policy as part of your membership ( see the reverse side of your membership card)

That will cover you for accidental damage provided you are not being paid to shoot.

I was recently in a similar position. I have my own properties that I have shot on for years without insurance. However I was invited to a new place, where insurance was a pre-requisite. Joining SSAA was the simple solution.

What is the SSAA membership cost these days ?
I do not fear death itself... Only its inopportune timing!

I paid $90 for the year, they do offer a plan for $125 where they insure your firearms.
The magazine they send out is not too bad, if you wanted a gun magazine subscription for the year it probably wouldn’t be far off that $90 anyway.
Also gives me a couple of bucks off when I go to the range.

There's any number of other hunting and shooting clubs which offer insurance apart from SSAA...

Just check with your own home insurance - you may already have PL insurance aligned with an existing policy - especially possible if you’ve nominated your firearms as special cover on house policy.

Weeell. As it happened i needed to ph about my home insurance today so i asked the question. My insurance comes with 20ml of liability insurance. Guess what, covers me if i am sued providing i am abiding by the law. Example given was if i walk my dog, if it bites another person im covered. Good enough for me.

What would concern me about home insurance is the company using some obscure technical loophole to weasel their way out of a claim.
They're bastards when its actually something to do with your house, let alone a shooting trip.!
