Dumb things pepple say on social media

Post by Sergeant Hartman » 27 Mar 2020, 6:15 pm

Been thinking about this thread for a bit. Basic premise is if you seen something ridiculous on Facebook lets share here for enjoyment. Ill start, Today someone posted.

Make this go viral, truckies should eat free.

While it's a nice thought, truckies are working overtime abs getting paid fully, very likely they will be the last ones to get shut down, and many won't as they would be essential. While an independent restaurant is probably not doing very well, with less customers and same expenses. AlsoSoothes pepple wanting it to go viral will never really but a truckie a few mean from their pocket.

I'm amazed how checkout workers and shelf stackers were always seen as an entry level job, now they are critical to society. Every job has its value to the economy.

Many truck drivers bellies already consumed too many big breakfasts ...let’s not encourage them to eat any more ...if they have a heart attack and die our all important food will be slower getting to the supermarkets and some people will be sad because they lost their good mate Robbo

Agree, truckies already eat in excess, massive rates of obesity, heart and bowel disease, hip and knee issues, don't encourage them to eat more ffs

Whilst I agree trucks are important, I think restoration of a decent and more efficient intra and interstate rail system would be much more beneficial to society than the never ending trucks on the road.

Its not that truckies just eat in excess its that they eat rather unhealthy food and are inactive.

To use the truckies at my work as an example. They are in their truck about 12hours a day. Smoko breaks 1 hour a day. Driving to and from work about 1 hour a day. Then they are at the wet mess for about 2 hours and in their room sleeping for about 8 hours a day.

They litterally spend a 24hour day sitting down or laying down. That is just a heart attack waiting to happen.

Also to do with the changes that happen in the body & its metabolism as we age, & how even brain activity can change in regard to controlling/changing metabolism.
Choosing to ignore the fact you are consuming considerably more energy than you can or do expend, is going to result in only one thing...health problems...

Then there was another one i saw.

A guy put a bigish generator for sale for 6k, so a woman posts up how greedy he is, and why not donate the generator to someone in Gippsland fires.

Thankfully a few people blasted her for his rant, one doing why not she but the generator and donate it to someone as this gut might be poor himself and needs the money

Not social media, but mainstream, a couple of days ago, NSW police minister telling reporter that if people don't abide by the new bans and restrictions "they WILL die".

I was mucking around Ziad.
There is some of the OP i dont understand.
For example what is "AlsoSoothes pepple"..?..is it supposed to be "all those other"
:unknown: :)

Anyway, the only real social media i do is here, so no point re-quoting my own sillyness here continually.

Although, in normal media i hear some crakers...like this...

In an industrial town couple hours north of Afelaide cslled Port Pirie, its known as having an issue with lead levels.
So ine day in the last year, an ABC investigative journalist did a report on it.

With regard to the increased lead levels in children, the report summarised something like this...
'We believe the increased lead levels in children are due to there being an increase in lead levels in their environment.'

And the other day here in Adelaide, i switched the wireless over to the local city broadcast of the ABC to see if the personell had changed, & hopefully it would be running a good intelligent program.

Well...it crossed over to the "Dense Penny" (lol...his name is Spense Denny) who was out in the streets for the "on the ground hard COVID-19 reporting'...& he was amogst the line-ups at centrelink.

He kept apologising to people (who were keeping the social distancing 1.5m minimum) for breeching the 1.5m rule, saying its ok because "its Spence from the ABC"... :wtf:

Went past a couple of people & said "ok you dont want to talk then". ..

And when he got a few people who would talk, he actually said "so what are you doing here in the line-up ?"...
:wtf:

The guy is a fair dinkum hollow curtain rod...its got me how he is doing what he is doing...

I listened for about 2 minutes & the above is what i heard... then i turned the station over again.

Couldn't help myself, from Barons post in another thread
Jan. 26, 2020

Wuhan seafood market may not be source of novel virus spreading globally

As confirmed cases of a novel virus surge around the world with worrisome speed, all eyes have so far focused on a seafood market in Wuhan, China, as the origin of the outbreak. But a description of the first clinical cases published in The Lancet on Friday challenges that hypothesis.

The paper, written by a large group of Chinese researchers from several institutions, offers details about the first 41 hospitalized patients who had confirmed infections with what has been dubbed 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV).

In the earliest case, the patient became ill on 1 December 2019 and had no reported link to the seafood market, the authors report. “No epidemiological link was found between the first patient and later cases,” they state. Their data also show that, in total, 13 of the 41 cases had no link to the marketplace. “That’s a big number, 13, with no link,” says Daniel Lucey, an infectious disease specialist at Georgetown University.

Lucey says if the new data are accurate, the first human infections must have occurred in November 2019—if not earlier—because there is an incubation time between infection and symptoms surfacing. If so, the virus possibly spread silently between people in Wuhan—and perhaps elsewhere—before the cluster of cases from the city’s now-infamous Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market was discovered in late December.

“The virus came into that marketplace before it came out of that marketplace,” Lucey asserts.
