Your Shooters Journal and the virus

Post by Wm.Traynor » 03 Apr 2020, 7:36 pm

Mine arrived this pm and the clear plastic cover was removed with a pair of scissors and an Ansell, throw-away glove. All without touching the mag itself.
However, much as I would like to read the mag, I am mindful of the precautions that should be taken, if any. The mag should be disinfected if it was touched by human skin, pre-wrapping in plastic.
But has it? All we have is Pine-O-Clean, which is only anti bacterial anyway. And it stinks. Don't want that on my fingers, even if it does get wiped off. Might as well wear gloves :(
Might wait a few days for the virus to die a natural death I 'spose

you know what i mean mate . waiting for a problem to happen is the worst part , dealing with it provides action you can take . to get past it and have immunity would take away any anxiety or worry . i've heard so many doom and gloom stories regarding our firearms as well, the UN are landing troops to impliment agenda 21 , teams of SAS are on stand by to sieze weapons ;) . crazy times ahead  .

i defer to anzac and anglo-saxon/celtic defiance, grit and spirit in the face of this crisis

 :drinks:

It’s an interesting point Br.
Mental health is going to deteriorate with a LOT of ppl during this unknown era.
I’ve already had friends say in passing they’ll kill them selves if this goes on much longer - passing and stupid comments for sure, but for some - this IS absolutely deveststing.
Extroverts and the like will be doing circles and going mad - I think hunters who can be alone, stand their own BO will survive better, as they are used to their own company...but it raises a point - how many ppl won’t be able to adapt, to live like we currently are ? And will we hear about suicides relating to CV or will they be “covered” to ensure ppl don’t ingest the idea?

I'd have to ask is it really that hard?

I think the great thing about this it's shown who the mentally tough and mentally weak people are and who the prepared and unprepared people are.

It is devastating but I'd say WW1 and the following Spanish Flu pandemic was much, much worse.

I think we have been to good...we are too law abiding during at home waiting it out. Some are telling themselves its only 14 days.

And then the PM comes on and tells us its going to be like this for 6 months. And next day VIC premiere Dan threatening to bring in stage 4 restrictions.

There will be mental health issues, all those snowflakes as some here call them will die. Many will divorce as they probably cannot stand their spouse.

I say stop worrying about it, try live as normal a life as possible while maintaining social distance.

So something to make everyone happy

I’ve noticed in my circle at least, women are having the hardest time thus far...the only hobby for many of them is socialising and spending their (partners?) money...I’ve even had a few young ladies curse me saying,” it’s alright few you, nothing has cHanged much in your life - but everything has changed in mine...”

Regardless or how bad things may or may not get some people are extremely rattled and upset by any sort of change. They have decades of the same old thing and fall to bits if their routine is put out

That's what has been great about all this. All these phony movements full of poo like feminism all got flushed when the reality rubber met the road. All this stuff about how they are all Ms. Independent and blah diddy blah, yeah that all imploded. I've seen it in person and on the dating apps. A month ago it went from smash the patriarchy and men suck to somebody hold me and I'll cook, clean and give you all the sex you want. The natural laws of the world always reset themselves.

Women are more social creatures than men and attention is the coin of the realm for them. So yes for some of these young women getting all the likes on social media from parading around spending some man's money and living it up, certainly their world has imploded. I say too bad, get in the kitchen and make me a sandwich.

We've had a good run but that's over. People need to learn to flex their brain and instead of seeing the negatives, look for the positives and the opportunity. Yes I know there is lots of bad news out there and it's not going to be easy, but that's out of our control to some extent. People should be taking the time to do those things they might not ordinarily do. Learn a new skill, a new language, read those books or magazines you wanted to read, get your reloading done, clean your house, repair the house, detail the car, do some projects fixing or making stuff, research investments to buy, come up with a side business or side hustle, start a Youtube channel and talk about your life out in the bush, etc.

When I got locked out of my gym 3 weeks ago, instead of running to the store to buy sweets and frozen food junk, I ordered a weight machine home gym on Amazon. It just got dropped off this week. Now instead of having work, travel or other stuff get in the way, every day I can go down to the barn for the next month and put 2 hours a day in doing weights.
