My experience it's a waste of time arguing with lemmings or left leaning people on this site, moderator just removes your post and leaves them having the last word, absolutely pointless, clearly those running things agree with the lemmings, berate me if you want but that's as honest of an observation as I can give.

As I was joining this forum ( initial registration processs) I thought to myself, no way in hell am I ever going to get involved in any sort of negative carrying on or bitch fights ...I felt very determined about it .... having those sort of defined plans early on has been a big help ....so now to keep on track I’m setting myself another mini goal ...I’ll try to get to 5000 posts without ever being warned by a moderator.. I don’t even know if we only have one or maybe there’s more , does not really matter

Some things to consider. When I had my last safe inspection I asked the senior sergeant if they monitor the internet. He fixed me with a hard stare and now I know.Trust me all firearm related sites are monitored 24/7 and they know which room of the house you are in when you post stuff. Some of the charactors who have been given holidays I was happy to see go no names mentioned but it gets a bit wearing when you share a shooting yarn and it gets called out as B.S. by someone in another state who has no idea of my local conditions. My second son has an expression

I am on a climate change forum and it needs thinning out but its a bit of a free for all.I try to stick on topic but with covid and BLM its hard to find any relevant matter

It’s all a bit yin and yang to me, y’know, ya can’t have good without evil, Black without white. That’s what freedom of speech is . In this modern world it seems people have forgotten how to agree to disagree. Folks seem waaaay to quick to be offended, and waaaaay to sensitive to criticism or disagreements. With things not being face to face, misunderstandings occur, and nobody is immune to it .It’s a online forum, I try to keep that in perspective
I might sound like I’m stating the obvious, but in the heat of discussion, sometimes we forget

Cheers and have a nice day everyone

So the cops did their psychology job very well on you then ?
Do you really think they have resources to monitor all the forums, video uploads, emails, etc etc etc - and do anything about it ? They are bouldering borders up because they don’t have enough military / police to man them.

I’m confident - trigger words, search word engines, etc probably get highlighted on at least some level And yes IP addresses can be traced via correct legal channels but if you honestly believe there are 20 police sitting, ghosting online fire arm forums - sorry, I’m not convinced.

Police don't need to, there are plenty of SJW's happy to sign up to random forums hoping to be offended and find something they can report to various authorities or the media.

Blade, I can take actual video into the local police re ppl dumping rubbish, speeding and swerving like morons - provide work based CCTV of criminals and they will do nothing about it (or can’t)..cctv that’s effectively indisputable evidence.
Anyone can embellish / lie / etc in a forum...so, unless it’s something outlandish, ie a direct threat, a blatant confession of something terrible or similar - why would they use precious resources to investigate what is likely to be a dead end for them ?
Anyone know of anyone who was investigated based on a forum posting ?

I have chatted with people on Facebook that were specifically targeted by authorities because of things they had posted online, like FB, Youtube, IG, etc, some have been widely publicized. I doubt Police stumbled onto their pages without being directed to them by "concerned" readers, or more likely "friends" wishing to cause them trouble.

What was posted was - “ .Trust me all firearm related sites are monitored 24/7 and they know which room of the house you are in when you post stuff”.

That is some distance away from posting up an illegal video on a social platform.

With modern technology a computer can search many, many multiple posts and websites all at once, using search algorithms and other computer geek magic. You’ve only got to think of the onboard computer in vic police cars that scans license plates it drives past red flagging unlicensed drivers and vehicles that the owner has arrest warrants for. I saw this on “a current affair “ about 3 years ago. If that’s the technology that the feds admit too, imagine what their not telling us . I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but I keep a open mind to possibilities. I think this forum is randomly monitored, just to check there’s no radical right wingers or people talking about making machine guns on here
There’s been questions raised by others relating to the identity of some on this forum who weigh in on political subjects, but rarely talk about firearms in a personal sense . GCA ? Or something else?

It’s not the police doing the monitoring and surveillance.
And it’s not necessarily firearm related discussion they’re watching.
And those being watched here know who they are.

I am at a loss to understand what may have been wrong with my disappeared post or how it may have offended against the rules of the forum.

Although it does remind me of the anecdote about the owner of NASCAR in the 1930's.
He was walking through the pits and came across a mechanic drinking whiskey.
He yells out to the mechanic, hey you no drinking whiskey in the pits.
The mechanic comes back with, where is it written in the rules about no drinking whiskey in the pits.
So the owner pulls out a piece of paper and writes Rule xyz - No drinking whiskey in the pits and hands it to the mechanic.

It's even more amusing if you know the history of the origins of NASCAR.

Well I for one wouldn't like to do a moderators job mainly because of the decisions i'd have to make on removing people from the forum, we are adults on here and should act appropriately and consider others when posting , a good piss take at times makes this forum, if it is done with consideration of others and some on here are very good at doing so but others aren't and these are the ones who make it difficult for the ''Snowflakes'' as some would say :) but there is no rule that snowflakes can't join this forum so we have to be mindful of them and consider their thoughts , opinions and emotions not only our own but on saying that the snowflakes should consider that there will be times when they'll feel uncomfortable with some posts and should just not read them or comment on them so as not to be caught up in a piss take , if i'm not interested in a post I don't read it and don't comment on it, then as for the mods well they don't always get it right :silent:  no person on earth could unless they're Christ him self yet we are adults and know this and yet we take the piss on the mods for trying to run a forum with so many types of people and opinions and remember the mods are in there to so different ideas and opinions coming from them as well, but there has to be rules to keep an even balance and if some buck that balance then there are consequences and unfortunately these consequences some will not agree with but they are the rules of the day whether we like it or not, if we don't like it then we move on. there are so many people with knowledge on here yet we can't seem to get it right across the board, we don't own the forum and the forum is nothing without us, but we are here and we as adults should respect everyone's opinion regardless , one of the problems I see on here is too much baiting and not enough debate the debate goes when the baiting starts and confusion and anger takes over to the point name calling starts and the mods don't step up and say something to settle it but rather let it go until someone tells someone to fek off and in turn is banned from the forum  I honestly think that most straight thinking people on here will agree that we are stuck with this and should make the most of the forum and be mindful of others and those that don't like a thread then don't read it and to those baiters ''Pull your heads in '' and think of others ,names are not needed here you know who you are as and so does everyone else

Calm even handed post but I am drawn to your reference to baiters.
When these so called baiters get very good at what they do, could they then be referred to as Master Baiters?

Straightshooter, mate call them what you will but whatever they're called they are no friend to a debate or a forum, there are plenty on here who can have a joke and do it tactfully and be absolutely funny, but there are those that do it to discredit someone full well knowing what they are doing, eventually it leads to neither side backing down then to someone being banned, for what ,? because they've been baited and yes sometimes it is in jest but without any thought of the outcome and then a continuation of the baiting, i'm not the smartest person by any means but I have enough intelligence to note when a person is upset by something that was said so this is when things should be brought back to perspective and not have to wait for the mods to start banning people and lets not get a good old piss take confused with a baiting from a person who takes pride in doing so, I find it amazing that some on here that do do the baiting have never mentioned having a rifle or any type of gun for that matter or engaged in a debate of reloading or load development or hunting yet find time and to their liking to bait those that do if I can see it how many others do and why haven't the mods done something to settle things in this area, this would be more fixing than banning those that get caught up in such stuff But hey maybe i'm way out of line in voicing my opinion.

It’s a good point GDB - there appears to be quite a few who never comment outside of off topic section or post up pics of shooting targets etc...
At times I picture some ppl on here, as a 13 year old kid, googling related firearm responses to some questions - having never touched a trigger...but - as you say...public forum.

I’ve seen numerous other forums put things in place to void this - $$$ to join, or proof of ownership or what ever - but doing so could kill a forum or make it.

I do wonder if a chat section might fix some of these issues (especially during lock downs or crap weather) - but logistics would be problematic.
