Sorry we have gone off topic here, but when you talk about having guns taken from you, try this on for size:
Once upon a time there was a young, ok, not so young guy, we will call him Bello for the purposes of this story.
He works long hours. He was at work one sunny day, when UNKNOWN to him, his daughter who doesn't talk to him, and DOESN'T live at home, goes to the family home to get some items, (Her mother gave her a key without telling Dad).
This daughter takes her boyfriend with her, they have a fight outside the house, IN THE STREET. A domestic dispute allegedly.
The police are called. Problem solved.
That day Bello gets a call from the Police, asking what time he will be home, so they can take all his guns, as there was a domestic dispute at his home and the law says they can take your guns.
All the guns were taken.
After letters were written and phone calls made, about six weeks later all was returned.
I wasn't even home, My daughter doesn't live there, and they took my guns. I have never been in trouble with the law.
I understand in some cases of domestic disputes, guns have been used, so they have to take them. I get it.
Just my sorry sad luck

I have a cheap, supposed 3 gun safe which has an air rifle and a .22 with a scope. Looks like I’ll struggle to fit a third rifle in it and the .22 is diagonally positioned because the scope touches the back of the safe. Do you guys take scopes off and on to allow more rifles to get crammed in? I was wondering if I should get quick release rings so the scope can be taken off easily. Does this then mean after every refitting you’d be sighting in every time? Would appreciate some feedback, and go easy on me, only had my licence 2 months!

i only remove a scope if i absolutely have to (if the scope is being replaced or the rifle is going to a gunsmith ) , once it's sighted in .
consider how many rifles you think you want , then double it
a ten to twelve gun safe will hold seven to eight scoped rifles comfortably in my opinion .
unless their unscoped winchester lever guns which are so slim you would fill a safe to it's listed capacity
