Decorative firearm weather vane

Post by TassieTiger » 01 Dec 2020, 2:27 pm

I’ve got a couple old stocks laying around - including a Boyd’s all weather stock.

Was thinking if I placed a wooden dowel into the barrel channel and painted it silver, and then added a north, south steel indicator ring a foot above the stock, placed the entire thing on a pole with a internal bearing - it would make a great xmas present as a wind direction indicator...but then the firearm laws being as they are, the device might be regarded as a replica ?
Thoughts ?

I think they will make you surrender it. In which case you should engrave Holland & Holland on it for fair compensation.
Very rare piece with the built in navigation device.
I dream of a world where chickens can cross the road without having their motives questioned
