Surely someone got a new rifle, or at least some reloading gear?

I bought a set of lee powder scoops yesterday To speed up my trailboss 4570 load development but at only 28 bucks I’m not sure I consider it a Chrissy present.

Mate life is short so go treat yourself. My safe is full of irresponsible purchases. 6.5 Creedmoor a great cartridge mate, I love mine, and as we know, absolutely nothing wrong with a $500 Howa. Great price. Yes I am an enabler.  :drinks:
Merry Christmas mate.

I laughed wen u said your safe is full of irresponsible purchhsees, It’s as if u accept it with no shame whatsoever....if we were to start an IRESPONSIBLE PURCHASES forum it would crash on day one from haveing too many member join ups ....I could shoot 125 s Or 130 ‘s in my 308 to get close to a creed. But my Remington 308 Pump is always going to hav a disgusting trigger ....so perhaps a pta might b happening...500 is a very cheap way to satisfy the new rifle urge. Merry Christmas to u as well , I think

Bahahahaha, mate I do at times feel guilty however if you have a bit of spare change then I reckon it’s important to indulge yourself from time to time. Unfortunately I take my own advice and have ended up with a few rifles I don’t really need, and a rather expensive thermal that I don’t get to use as much as I’d like.

Jt ..I only hunted the cape once in th cool, and it as a waste of time from then on I did it in th heat of October and always concentrated my efforts On the water between 9 and 4. Otherwise I knew those boars were wandering at night in the forests and I would only run into them by chance .....but I still reckon the thermal would b Good for chital and dingoes up north , and For pigs on crops at night ....I know bugger all about crops up your way. Stuff sugar cane Hunting I’m too old for that

Just prior to Xmas I bought myself a "new second hand" seat for my dog hunting rig.
It is much better than the previous seat seeing as it has back and forth rails, adjustable lumbar support, as well as height adjustment, and tilt.
And,,, as a Xmas gift from the lovely lady, I got a custom made heavy duty canvas seat cover for it.

But,,, seeing as I just this evening got back from way down South (edge of the salt water) and a solid continuous 25 hour drive to get home,,,,,,,,,
I'm too stuffed to get up and wander out to the workshop to take some pics to post.

OK,, I got some pics of the "new secondhand seat" that is yet to be mounted on my shooting platform.
It is wearing the custom made canvas seat covers.
Note,,, the pics show it to be a little "wonky", due to the original foot mounts are designed to conform to the original vehicle floor pan,,,, and also
because (some-one) has put in a home made side plate on one side of the tilting mechanism.
When I get to mounting it, these two issues will be dealt with and the end result should be level and square where it matters.

Should be much more user friendly and comfy than the previous seat that was out of a Mercedes.
When sitting out all night,,,,,,,,,,, it pays to have everything to be set up just right.

I was just thinking snooze, when I saw jts comment. Many times I have been sitting on a dam with no back rest at night , scanning as often as possible with thermal binos ...the sharp burrs digging into all parts of me and the poor circulation from legs folded up into stupid positions , it all helps to keep me awake ....sometimes I take a folding chair. Recently while back at camp I set an alarm on my iPad to Wake me up to remind me to stake out a dam. But I woke sooner, and I went to stake out that dam. I parked my quad 100 m from the stake out position and settled in for some scanning. About an hour later the silence of the Aussie bush was no more. I thought what the hell is that. Then I remembered setting my alarm on the iPad Instead of the standard alarm tone it was Metallica’s version of whiskey in the jar at full volume. Not the sort o noise you want as you are waiting silently for mobs to come in for a drink
