FMD,, THE MOST FRUSTRATING,,

Post by Die Judicii » 29 Apr 2021, 5:59 pm

I think these bloody things are the most infuriating thing invented yet.
I am speaking of those stretchy cargo nets with the plastic hooks.
No matter how carefully you roll, or fold the mongrels,,,,,, the next time you need it,,, you can kiss goodbye to 1/4 hr trying to untangle them.

It’s the bloody hooks. No hooks no problem. U can buy really cheap alum carabiners on eBay ...they have a spring gate on them which won’t entangle like those hooks. .....ditch the hooks , add the carabiners .....or get frustrated, cranky and feel like u need a cigarette when u don’t ever smoke ......that’s my tip for today

I carry two in the bush, but I don't try to pack them, they get hooked across the back of my pack.

That's a very good idea about removing the hooks and just carrying a bunch of carabinas instead.

So true, its like an elastic nightmare

I generally grab one hook, find and untangle the next in line and hold it again the first one repeating the process until I've got about one side bunched up in my hand and go from there.

Lots of swear words

Never thought of using em on the damm cargo net. (thanks BLR)
