Anybody else down my way trying to stay afloat?

Bit of a mess around here, but we got through it a whole lot better than a lot of others.

Our new neighbours were planning to move their furniture in this week.
One of our trees has cut their only access road into the property.
I explained to them a route they can navigate through the paddocks to enable them to get through and out onto the road if they have to, but it's pretty wet and soggy in there.
Hopefully we can have it sorted tomorrow for them.

Poor buggers. I really am thinking of you lot. Mother nature can be bloody cruel. Hang in there.

Rose has been cutting trees up that have broken the fences, lots of cattle getting around still that shouldn't be. The chainsaw died and I couldn't get any spark out of it so she's taking back to the shop to sort, and bought a battery one to get through the smaller stuff. It's pretty neat but the batteries don't last long at all on logs bigger than about 250mm diameter. They charge pretty quickly though so it'll be a handy tool.

I got the water pump back into action this arvo, it was under more than a meter of water. A neighbour still hasn't found one of his pumps yet.

Still plenty to do yet, but we're still way better off than far too many other people :-(

We had some minor flooding Wednesday night / Thursday morning but ok.
I had to chainsaw my way out to go to work Thursday and drive over some powerlines. That was a bit freaky being a sparky.
Have had no power since 7:30 Wednesday night though and it’s not expected until next Friday. Genny is getting a workout!
Meh. It’s just like camping I told the wife. Haha.
We have a tangle of extension leads on the floor powering all we need and we have candlelight dinners.

Living the dream I say. Haha

I heard that power lines were down on Church Road but I haven't been anywhere yet to see what's been happening around the area.
We're off-grid so our power was fine.
Got to do some roof repairs tomorrow, before we get some more rain.

Every day since we moved here in 2014 is like camping for us :-)
