As a nation, we’re just a baby. We’re growing and changing. We’ll probably get pubes soon. I hope so anyway.
So China stops stealing our lunch money in the world playground.
We have’nt finished building our new world yet. But we’re doing a bloody good job overall and many counties envy us.
We have nothing holding us back from showing the world how it’s done.

But for the sake of reminiscence. Let’s look at a snapshot from the 1970’s. What a sophisticated people indeed. A pillar of our civilisation. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=E7hTasc-vD4

Naa mate in 2021 we are the laughing stock of the world. Something about fortress australia
When good men and women can’t speak the truth, when facts are inconvenient, when integrity and character no longer matter, when ego and self-preservation are more important than national security — then there is nothing left to stop the triumph of evil

The choice of clip for your reminiscence tells more of a storey about you I reckon than it does about the country...

The 70’s was a time of major change in so many positive ways, it didn’t suffer from the polarisation, political correctness, laziness both physically and mentally pandering to ideologies and fears that are pedalled today.

It also was a time of hardship for many with a recession, high interest rates, high unemployment and the beginning of the demise of Australian manufacturing due to cheap imports.

Histories free and at your finger tips these days, both the good and the bad.

Beyond the failures in infrastructure development v population increase the next failure is delivery of services. Simply service delivery has failed to keep up with population and societal growth, what comes to mind immediately is mental health but that’s just up on the tip of the iceberg. Maybe a closer example may help....licensing, registration and regulation......

But not only public services are of issue, it’s private as well......
