Courage is knowing it might
hurt, and doing it anyway.
Stupidity is the same

And that's why life is hard

Had a bit of a tidy up in the shed and threw out a heap of stuff I was keeping for Justin Case (turns out he wasn't needed......yet).

Dragged out my tillering tree for bowmaking and had a bit of a desultory play with a project bow I was given - it was a decent longbow that came from a well known maker which ended up with a bit of a problem, so it was given to me to see if I could resurrect it. Hopefully will get a bit more done when I get some holidays, but at least I can now do a bit when I want, rather than having to move a heap of crap around to get to what I need.

Snuck out to the olds as they're away for a few days and sat over a rabbit warren. Realised I need to make up a few blinds or a gillie suit to have a decent chance of success with the air rifle as it's so dry it's very hard moving around quietly even sitting still. Was sitting there wondering if I could get away with subsonic .22WMR out of a tree stand as it's a little too close to the road for my liking, and there's horses nearby that I don't want to spook (gotta keep the neighbours happy!).

Spent a bit of time doing some e-scouting in both new areas and areas I've been close to but not visited yet. Have a few plans for the coming winter so working towards ticking a few of them off if I can.

ripped the thermal off my 308 and whacked it on my Howa 6mm ARC.

Haven't had this rifle out for over 2 yrs so I'm keen to see how it performs on some hogs, loaded up some 103gr ELD-X's as well. :drinks:

A mate put a new set of tyres on his car last week. I took a ute load of firewood up to him yesterday and helped him replace the rear struts and springs. We took it for a test drive afterwards and it was mint. He rang this arvo saying he'd broken down in Moe. So I went up there and it sounds to me like it's done a rod bearing (hell of a racket), so now he's looking for another engine for the thing (2010 Subaru wagon). He'd gone up to his mum's to prune a big blackwood hanging over the neighbour's fence, so I towed him around to her place (only 3km) and we cut the tree down. Then we loaded the bigger stuff in the van and brought it home for firewood. If the engine had gone two weeks ago he might not have bothered doing tyres and suspension, but it's a decent car so it's worth getting an engine if we can find one. He was given it with a blown engine years ago as a parts car for his other Subaru but it was so good he had an engine put in and it became his primary drive.
