Today I got a merry Xmas text from somebody but I had forgotten it was Xmas because I’m on a hunt in the middle of no where. . As hunters we are mostly all too old now to get Xmas presents but that doesn’t stop us prom buying them for ourselves. Perhaps a small portable crane for work or a new mini air conditioner or a new stretcher tent ( I’ll give my old one to my dog. ) I can put the two side by side so we can share the air con. I hate him sleeping in my bed. Takes up too much space and he always put dirt on my sheets

An Ishapore 2A1 in good condition, and best of all a Portuguese Guedes rifle, very nice bore but fore wood is a replica made from a Martini Henry wood. Still looks good, and Guedes are so rare I'm happy to have what I've got. Have a great Xmas and a safe and Happy New Year, let's hope it's better than the last 2, Cheers.
PS: More Scotch came also!!

Awesome!! Bit sucky having to work today, but hopefully you get better rate for it. What do you do for work out of interest, given you've drawn the short straw of working Christmas day?

My daughter have me a block of chocolate and a packet of teaspoons, both bought by myself!

A bottle of Dimple,,
An attachment for the Hi Lift jack that hooks directly onto the 4x4 wheel,,
And cash to cover the special Ruger rings that I just bought.

Well I got a lot of stuff.

RCBS bench mounted primer seater
Competition Electronics DLX Chronograph
$400 worth of Cabelas gift cards
Aero M5 308 AR-15 stripped lower
2 Aero AR-15 stripped lowers
Lands End insulated shirt

Last week we have this online service called Goldbelly where you can order from restaurants all over the USA, so I got deep dish Pizza from Chicago, french dip sandwiches from LA, fried chicken from Big Shaq's Chicken in Las Vegas. So plenty of food here with the organic turkey in the oven right now.

wanneroo: "... I got deep dish Pizza from Chicago."

I remember superb deep dish pizza from a pizzeria [Alfredos I think] near the University of Chicago when we lived on campus many decades ago. It was the best pizza I have ever eaten.

I had Pequod's which I had never had before and it wasn't too bad. There are others one can pick from and have sent frozen, so I'll try another one next time. It's nice because I don't have to go to all these places, I can just have it sent to me.

Me slightly amused because even though he’s had enough foresight to see hell need more than a three gun safe, he hasn’t forseen the reality that after a while he’ll end up bolting another one to the side of it

I used to think that my 22 mag, 243 and 303 covered all the bases and I would never need any more , and they do cover it all ....but now later I understand more things like greed and the insatiable human nature

scoot: "Now I get to agonise over seeing stuff that has no bearing on my end results."

I bought a Teslong bore guide some months ago and was surprised [even alarmed] at some pitting I saw inside the barrel near the muzzle of my old Anschutz 1532 [.222 Rem.], but the thing shoots 3/4" groups at 100 yards and is my favourite rifle, even knocking over a randy dog fox at 214 yards a few months ago.
