I think most of us want to walk out.

I'm in the same job, i have had for 15 years, the company was great at first , pay rises for a few years, however that's changed, no more xmas parties, no bonus, pay rises haha what's that, and you need to do education after hours without pay, management don't really care, they say they care, however we all know they don't.

I'm sure i can get anougher job with more money else ware, however the only benefit to this company is its flexible as in, I can pick up my son from school and keep working after.

I just want to say we've hired two people in their 60's in the last couple weeks.
Metal fab business.
A third of our staff are over 50
Because why
They turn up every day with a smile and on time.
They are sensible and courteous.
They cause zero drama.
They foster a good culture in the work place and that is crucial
Mature age workers for the win.

I even have a neighbour who put on a 60 year old as a mature age apprentice.
Because why wouldn't you.
Teenage apprentices are a nightmare.

Teenage apprentices know everything.
I do not fear death itself... Only its inopportune timing!
I've come to realize that,,,,, the two most loving, loyal, and trustworthy females in my entire life were both canines.

Never let your age get in the way of taking on a new employment opportunity.
Every time that I changed, it was to take on a new challenge.
Last one was when I was 63. Did the (prospective) employer ask how old I was? No. Did they care? I guess not. Did I tell them? No. Although they can inevitably determine your age, they are not entitled to ask, nor should they. The matter at hand is whether or not you can perform the task. Ageism is not permitted.
It comes down to whether or not you have the attributes they are seeking.
A very rewarding "post", from which I retired at age 70.

That sounds like fun.

But severance pay, Thailand , an ss v8 commodore, and that tattoo you’ve always wanted, usually comes first.
