Beretta wine isn't cheap...

Post by beepar » 22 Apr 2014, 6:16 pm

Dunno if this has been on here before.

I'm not a wine drinker but just for laughs was looking up how much it costs after seeing an ad in the SSAA mag.

Not cheap... $50 a bottle for the top stuff. $12 for the cheapest one and a few in between.

$50 though... How much do you trust a gun maker to make a good bottle of wine over a wine maker

You want a hang over?

Try a DIY vodka mix. Distill your own, add the flavour, drink... Wish for death...

Never again.

The worst I've ever had was a house whiskey at a little restaurant in Thailand.

I had a double on ice. Honestly... I was hung over while drinking it.

No happy stage, no warm and fuzzies, just immediate hang over.

I'd rather buy a bottle of wine made by a gunmaker than a gun made by a winemaker :D

Umm, sorry but $50 isnt really that expensive for a top of their range wine. I would have thought it would be more.

Heard a bit about that on the radio last week.

$3,000 a bottle for it apparently.

What a waste...

A good wine is like good art, if you like it then its good.

I would put money on it that Beretta just put lables on clean skins, I seriously doubt they own a vineyard, press grapes or ferment thier juices.

I drank a $1000 bottle of grange on my wedding night and although it was good it was no better than some $30 bottles I've had

Not ashamed to admit that 'fine wine' is wasted on me.

But you'll never convince me a bottle of anything is worth $3,000

How much better can it be than a $2,000 bottle? or $1,000 bottle? or $500 bottle? $200 bottle?

There is good and bad booze to be sure, but there is a point where it just becomes wank factor. That's well, well below $3,000.

Up to a few hundred dollars for a bottle I'll concede, but nothing above that.

I'm a whiskey man myself.

There are so many good bottles for $60 - $65, $80 a bottle of you want something special, I don't know why people spend any more.

I've tried a few that where 30 or 40 years old and $500+ a bottle and that kind of thing.

Personally I'd have been satisfied with a $60 bottle and to still have a few hundred dollars cash in my back pocket.
See you on the firing line.

I know plenty of vineyards sell out their grapes or make wine by request too.

I suspect Beretta went to a vineyard/wine maker and just said 'make us this'.

I'll put berretta wine in the same basket as their shotguns, it doesn't get you any more drunk or the bird any more dead but i won't complain if someone gave me one
