Some will grieve, others won't think anything because the numbers are bogus.

The US puts the number closer to 15,000 and excluding LDR troops which are actually classified as Ukrainian then number is probably closer to 4000.

I have no military service background but my father is a WW2 veteran and was a platoon commander and company commander. Decades after the war his troops would revere him because he "never asked us to take unnecessary risks. If there was a way to complete an objective and avoid risk he would always opt to preserve his men."

There’s a lot of conflict with Russian families and their sons or husbands soldiers sent to Ukraine.
Namely they weren’t told they were being sent there. At best a training exercise or posted to the border.
They incinerate their dead. There’s no contacting the relatives. Or if enquires are made only told mia.
There’s no sending bodies home for funerals.
Russian families that ask questions get put under surveillance. Often threatened or detained.
A soldier accepts death sure. But for what ?
Dose’nt know why he is there, long after his contract has expired, and still hasn’t seen any nazis. Been ordered to target civilians.
